Als "Mersey Beat" bezeichnet man die Musik, die ab Ende der 1950er-Jahre in Liverpool entstand. Die bekanntesten Vertreter dieser Stilrichtung sind die "Beatles". In "Oldie Club 45" stellt Hans-Peter Huch noch weitere "Mersey"-Bands und -Musiker*innen vor: unter anderem mit dabei "Rory Storm & The Hurricanes", "The Swinging Blue Jeans" und die Sängerin Cilla Black.
