Victoria Polices Operation Pulse has made significant strides in reducing violent crime and anti-social behavior at shopping centers. In the first three weeks, 109 arrests were made and 30 weapons seized, including knives and knuckle-dusters. The operation has also led to 41 cautions, 38 penalties, 100 move-ons, and 217 total offenses, with a third being theft and shoplifting. The operation, which will run through February, is a response to a 63% increase in retail crime since 2022, with theft up over 90%.
