I'm going to show you how to optimize YouTube Shorts to get more views.

There are several things you can do to make better YouTube Shorts and to reach their maximum potential. In order to get more views on your YouTube shorts, there's something very important that you need to understand, and that's your traffic sources. If you go into the analytics for any of your videos, you'll be able to see the different traffic sources that are sending people to your video. On a normal YouTube video, these include YouTube search, Browse, Suggested Videos, and more.

But notice, when I look at one of my YouTube Shorts, it includes all of the same traffic sources as a regular YouTube video, plus one additional Shorts traffic source. This is when your video appears in the Shorts Shelf, as it's called. This is just one of the potential places people can discover your video, and so the real advantage you have is optimizing YouTube Shorts to be discovered in multiple places across YouTube.
