Oregon Draws No. 5 Seed in CFP, Matchup With No. 12 James Madison
Description
The College Football Playoff final rankings have been released. Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks earned the No. 5 seed and they'll face the No. 12 James Madison Dukes at home in Eugene for a first-round matchup.
Oregon finished the regular season with an 11-1 record and just signed the No. 3 recruiting class in the country for the 2026 class. There's a bit of coach movement on the staff with Tosh Lupoi and Will Stein being hired as the new head coaches at Cal and Kentucky respectively.
Even so, the Ducks opened as major betting favorites against JMU, with a line as high as 21.5 points on BetMGM. Oregon is looking to take its next step as a program, which after winning the Big Ten and drawing the No. 1 overall seed last season, would be winning a playoff game in 2025.
ScoopDuckOn3's Max Torres and Justin Hopkins react to the rankings and give their early thoughts on Oregon's next matchup against James Madison.
