​Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde was born October 16th 1854 in Dublin. His father, Sir William Wilde, was a famous surgeon while his mother was a poet and folklorist. Wilde is most famous for his first and only novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and several plays especially The Importance of Being Earnest.
