Adrian Morejon and Jeremiah Estrada each gave up a late run, and the Milwaukee Brewers- who scored all of their runs with 2-out rallies that started with nobody on base- beat the San Diego Padres 3-1 in the series finale at Petco Park.

Jeremiah Estrada gave up a solo home run to Danny Jansen in the 9th inning to give the Brewers a big insurance run and give them the 3-1 lead.

Brice Turang’s 2-out RBI single off Adrian Morejon in the 7th inning scored Jackson Chourio- who had singled and stolen 2nd base- to give Milwaukee the lead. Turang had 3 hits for the Brewers.

Jackson Merrill hit a solo home run in the 6th to tie it 1-1 for the Padres’ only run of the game.

Turang scored on a single by Vaughn in the 5th off Dylan Cease, also with 2 outs.

Manny Machado struck out 4 times for the Padres, who faced 1 pitcher after another on a bullpen day for the Brewers.

Ryan O’Hearn had 2 hits to lead the Padres. Luis Arraez hit a single to extend his hitting streak to 12 games.

Cease went 5 innings in his final start of the season, allowing just that 1 earned run on 6 hits, striking out 8 and walking 2.

Morejon gave up 3 hits and the earned run, and Estrada gave up just the solo homer. Kyle Hart worked a scoreless 8th for the Padres.

The Pads were once again without the services of superstar Fernando Tatis Jr., who missed the game with an illness.

The Pads won 2-3 in this series. They are now 2 games behind the LA Dodgers in the NL West, and also 2 games behind the Chicago Cubs for the top wild card spot.

The Pads are off tomorrow before welcoming in the Arizona Diamondbacks for the final 3-game series of the season, starting Friday at Petco Park, with 1st pitch at 6:40 pm PT.

RHP Yu Darvish (4-5, 5.51 ERA) will take the mound for the Padres. The D’Backs haven’t announced their starter yet.
