PHLY Sixers Postgame: Paul George injured again as Sixers’ nightmare start continues
Description
The Philadelphia 76ers complete their three-game road trip by falling to the Memphis Grizzlies, 117-111, their fifth consecutive loss that drops them to a league-worst 2-12 record. Joel Embiid had his best performance of the season, finishing with a game-best 35 points in his first action with fellow All-Stars Tyrese Maxey (8) and Paul George (2). But the playing time with the trio was short-lived as George suffered a left knee hyperextension (the same knee he injured in the preseason) early in the third quarter, forcing him to leave the game for the night. Big man Guerschon Yabusele had a nice game off the bench with 17 points, including five made 3s.
Six players scored in double figures for the Grizzlies, led by Desmond Bane's 21 with five made triples. Memphis knocked down 19 from beyond to Philadelphia's 10. The host Grizzlies played tonight on the second night of a back-to-back.
The PHLY Sixers discuss George's latest injury and another frustrating outing by the 76ers.
