January is cervical cancer awareness month... but I bet you do a lot of pap smears all year round. Even though this is a HUGE part of what we do in the clinic each day, many patients aren't clear on what a pap smear is, why we do it, how often it's needed, and what an abnormal results means. This episode includes a thorough but quick script to help explain these commonly confused points to patients... without giving them a reason to feel scared or stigmatized.
