Tip #1

Making the right connections through social networking is all about using the right strategies at the right time with the right calls to action. Used skillfully, social media becomes your referral engine to grow your business, however it is very important to make sure that EVERY thing you do has a purpose (your why), a goal (the desired result) and a call to action whether it is developing a “like” campaign for your Facebook business page, creating targeted lists on Twitter and/or Facebook, hosting a teleseminar or virtual event. Before you launch, make sure you know what your intentions are, how you are going to measure the results, what the benchmarks will be and what the final goal is.


Tip #2

Effective list attraction, retention and monetization skills are ESSENTIAL for long-term success. Today, your list is your virtual audience or marketplace and while it’s true that it’s not about the size of your list but the engagement and responsiveness, the real secret is in knowing what to do with your list once you’ve built it. Creating stick strategies for why they should stay on your list is just as important as the strategies to get them to opt-in or subscribe in the first place. My two favorite ways to do this are 1. providing exclusive content to my list and 2. providing discounts to my new programs and opportunities to beta test new services only available to my list.


Tip #3

The 3 faux pas I believe that stand in the way of entrepreneurs achieving massive results are 1. not providing value and building a relationship before attempting to “sell” your products and services 2. Confusing networking with selling and 3. adding people to your email list without permission.
