I've been plodding through the last couple hundred kilometers, increasingly beset by Mediterranean heat.

I knew I had reached the final stretch when I climbed the steep scree slope of Pic Carlit.

You can see the rugged mountain geography behind me. The way ahead was completely different. I had the feeling I've left the high Pyrenees behind.

The Carlit day is also the day I drank olive oil from the bottle. I needed a calorie boost for the climb. Don't have much body fat left by this point.

I was able to buy a little super glue in a village when I dropped down to resupply. So far it's holding.

I got over the peak of Canigou today, last big peak of my route.

Just a few more days to the Mediterranean, but long hot days when I'll be carrying a heavy load of water.

Been putting in some distance this week. 35 km yesterday and 29 km today.
