Permission to Rest and Not Perform
Description
Permission to Rest and Not Perform
We live in a world that constantly demands more—more productivity, more hustle, more proving of our worth. But God did not design you to endlessly perform. He designed you for rest in Him. Jesus Himself invites you, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 ).
Rest is not laziness; it is obedience. Sabbath was God's gift, not a burden. When we pause, we remember that the world does not spin on our effort, but on His sovereignty. Your value is not tied to how much you accomplish. It is rooted in being a beloved child of God.
There is freedom in stepping away, breathing deeply, and simply being with Him. Rest allows our souls to realign with truth. It is in the stillness that we hear His whisper, feel His presence, and are reminded we are enough—not because of what we do, but because of who He is.
Today, give yourself permission to rest. Let go of the pressure to perform. Rest is sacred. Rest is worship. Rest is where you remember—you are loved, just as you are.
