Major General Phillip Stewart is a senior military officer with the United States Air Force. In his most recent roles as a military Senior Officer he commanded both NATO’s and the Air Force’s high altitude drone wings and was also an expert on European & NATO military policy and was the architect of NATO’s military response to Russian aggression.
Maj. Gen. Phillip Stewart Stewart has commanded at multiple levels, including three times as a Wing Commander and twice in combat, and held numerous staff duty roles in the USAFE, on the Joint Staff and at Air Combat Command. He's held command roles in NATO, served as an instructor and evaluator pilot in multiple aircraft, and has over 600 hours of combat airtime and flown across 168 combat missions.
Maj Gen Stewart holds three Master's degrees and a Bachelor's degree from Georgia Tech, and has been awarded the NATO Meritorious Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star, Air Medal, Legion of Merit, Combat Readiness Medal, among many other honors and achievements. He is also the only military, civilian, or industry leader to be a three-time finalist for the Collier Trophy, presented annually by the air & space industry for the most outstanding feat in military or civilian aviation.
