Photographic Identity Crisis and How I Plan on Dealing With It.
Description
In the last 6 months of my journey, I've been going through something very important to me, and I wasn't able to identify this problem until now. After diagnosing myself because I'm obviously a doctor lol, I've come to realize that I'm having an identity crisis as a photographer. I've been stuck in a mode of questioning what type of work I'd like to make because there are 2 different types of work I believe I could make. Over time I've come to realize and notice the difference between documentary photography and simple.. creating great artistic images that serve no purpose than to simply be visually appealing. As of late, I've been very inspired by various old photographers' work that do either one or the other. This identity crisis was something that's been lacking in my growth because it's truly going to shape who I am as a photographer. Over the last couple of years, trying different photographic mediums was the goal but now that I've found my mediums of choice, it's time to start creating but, what am I creating? In this podcast ill be sharing this experience and what I plan on doing to deal with this crisis now that it's been identified. I hope this podcast helps anybody that might be going through what I'm going through.
