Adrian Goldberg explores the ongoing row about Physician Associates - healthcare professionals who might see patients in hospitals or at a GP's surgery, but who aren’t full qualified doctors. The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges said there should be a review into the safety and usefulness of both Physician Associates and Anaesthesia Associates (AAs) amid fears that they are sometimes performing tasks outside their capabilities.
Marion Chesterton from Greater Manchester shares the story of her daughter Emily, who died after being misdiagnosed in November 2022.
