🔘The guest of the second episode of this season of Podzahr Podcast is Mohamad AlJasem ( @m_h_aljasem) a senior year medical student at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, who simultaneously attended MPH and MSc in Cardiovascular Diseases. Mohammad has also more than 12 years of experience in the field of software development and currently, he is the head of the Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences. He was also the leader of the Syrian team in the computer’s olympiad where he won several national and international contests.

Mohammad is originally from Deir Ezzor in Syria and came to Iran in 2015 during the Syrian crisis. It was very hard for him to bear this situation and not seeing or even knowing about his family’s health and well-being for a long period of time because of the war. Although he was not sure medical school is the right choice for him and he wanted to follow his passion for software development. He was lucky to meet some students who were active members of the Students' Scientific Research Center, where he was motivated to see students doing all sorts of projects and extranuclear activities, which motivated him to start his own journey in this field of digital health and utilizing AI in clinical care. Mohamad also founded the international students association at TUMS, to bring all international students into one family, and due to his efforts he was elected as the best international student of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and University of Tehran in 2019.

He is also currently the lead developer of several national projects including DelShad a project backed by Tehran Heart Center and Tehran Province municipality which aims to early detect cardiovascular diseases targeting more than 15 million citizens living in Tehran.
Mohamad is planning to start a career in developing the next generation of AI-powered software to solve the current problems faced by patients and healthcare professionals.
