In 1966 the student-led CD and Record Library opened its doors to staff and students at the University of Nottingham. It started out life as a jazz library but has since grown to boast a collection of more than 12,000 albums in all sorts of genres.

It's thought to be the biggest university library of its kind in the country.

One of its longest running members is Dr Kim Elliott from the School of Civil Engineering. In this interview, he recalls the changes over the past 23 years and why, even in a library of this size, even Barbara Streisand can find a home.
