Description

Karolina Pondel-Sycz's guest on the DGPTalk Eureka podcast is professor Peter Hegemann, a German biophysicist and fellow of the Department of Biophysics at Humboldt University in Berlin. Prof. Hegemann is one of the discoverers of channelrhodopsin, a family of light-activated ion channels. This discovery gave science new opportunities to study the neural networks of living organisms and initiated the new scientific field - optogenetics.
