Description

You don’t have to look very far to see that we have a mental health crisis in America. From Robin Williams to Kate Spade to Anthony Bourdain, tragic cases of suicide regularly appear in the news, and opioid addiction has reached epidemic levels. What may be shocking to know is that eating disorders actually have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. They are also astonishingly prevalent: it is estimated that 30 million people of all ages and genders suffer from an eating disorder in the United States. That’s almost 10 percent of the population! In today’s episode of UnPhiltered, we delve into the critical work that Project HEAL does to combat eating disorders.

Along with Project HEAL co-founder Kristina Saffran, we have the pleasure of speaking with star of HBO’s Silicon Valley Amanda Crew, who is one of Project HEAL’s celebrity champions, and Craig Kramer, Board Chair of Project HEAL and Mental Health Ambassador at Johnson & Johnson.
