Each summer we journey through the Book of Psalms. The Psalms are made up
of poetry, songs, and laments written to and about the Lord. Israel cries
out to God to rescue them in their distress, praises Him for His mercy and
grace, and looks forward to the coming promised King among many other
things. The poetry of the Psalms is rich with the knowledge of God and
draws us in to praise and cry out to the Lord just as the Israelites did.
