Qarabaghi Talibkhan Sisters in the World of Science
Description
1900s Shusha, Azerbaijan. Three daughters, Suraya, Qamar, and Dilshad, will be born in the family of Talibkhan bek Talibkhanov - the descendant of the Karabakh khans and the police officer at the time of Imperial Russia and ADR, and Kheyrannisa Khanum.
Three of the sisters contributed to the science and culture of their time.
The older sister Suraya will become a prominent linguist, a folklorist who will create scientific works and articles about the Azerbaijani language.
Dilshad Talibkhan Elbrus will become the first female scientist of Azerbaijan in nuclear physics.
Gamar Aga-Oglu will be one of the first art critics in America.
