Description
Chief among spiritual disciplines is prayer. This is one of the first spiritual disciplines we learn as a child and one that we carry with us as we age.
The gospel of Luke is also known as the gospel of prayer. Because Jesus not only teaches his disciples about prayer... he gets away often to pray.
We get a glimpse of this prayer life when Peter, James, and John are invited up the mountain with Jesus. The disiples see Jesus ins all his glory. They see Jesus as God sees Jesus.
We can easily be misled the prayer is doing nothing. Prayer is very much action. It causes us to be present and aware of all the God up to around us.
So that is why in this Lenten season we want to make space for prayer each day. Specifically, space to pray the Lord's prayer in a way that it might guide our own prayer life.
