Red Bugs and Palm Trees in Montenegro

During our last holiday break in Montenegro, Tamara spotted a rather pretty looking, red bug flying around, which landed on my multi-coloured T shirt.
After talking about this rather fetching bug, we saw a young lady opening what looked like a big trap, which indeed she was
It was full of these red insects.
We found out she wears researching these insects.
On asking why they were being trapped, we quickly learned about how, and why, the many beautiful palm trees in Montenegro were dying, and who was responsible.
It's the red Palm Weevil or Surlaš.
