While it's virtually impossible to make every route go everywhere, over-reliance on bus-bus transfers just means your commute is relying on TWO modes of transportation that are beholden to traffic and weather conditions, let alone incidentals like breakdowns, collisions and the dreaded "medical emergencies." All it takes is a handful of times missing a connection by as little as 90 seconds and then waiting 25 minutes at a windswept bus shelter when it's 20F to turn people off from using buses.
