D3 and the world mourns the loss of North Central coaching legend Al Carius, who passed away earlier today at the age of 83 after a long, brave battle with cancer.
In his 50+ years at North Central, Carius became one of the most successful coaches in the NCAA across all sports and divisions:
🏆 19 National Titles
🏆 16 Runner-Up Honors
🏆 42 Podium Finishes
🏅 127 XC All-Americans
🥇 8 Individual National Champions
His impact far transcended numbers, though.
We wanted to rerelease this episode that originally aired in 2020 to honor Coach Carius and for more people to hear his message.
