Publisher's Summary:
As Peter Sellers' close friend and confidant over many years, actor Graham Stark is in the unique position to record the real story of the man as well as the actor.
Graham Stark appeared in 13 films with Peter Sellers, including all the legendary Pink Panther movies, and their close personal and professional relationship led to the many extraordinary adventures chronicled in this lively and entertaining recording.
From the public house in London, where the Goon Shows were born, to the exclusive Sardi's restaurant in New York, where Sellers was the toast of the town; from the golden days of radio and variety to the truth behind his involvements with some of the world's most glamourous women, this warm and intimate memoir is packed with personal anecdotes which reveal the many and often surprising sides of the chameleon Sellers, whose own character was as complex and diverse as the legendary scene characters he created.
Now available in an abridged form, this candid account of a friendship which lasted from their first meeting in the RAF in 1945 to Sellers' death in 1980 documents the life and times of a true comic genius.

Fading Memories
A terrific account from the point of view of a friend. Poignant really. A tribute. Graham Stark was a long time friend and sometimes co-star who you will recognize playing a number of characters through the years in the various Pink Panther films. It is nice to get his angle - a bit sympathetic and apologetic - because there are enough accounts of Sellers being a difficult s***. Graham's account puts the most human face on this enigmatic character, whose true persona was well nigh impenetrable to the general public. One of the things that feeds his legend. If you like Sellers - as I do - and you find him interesting enough to read about, then you should absolutely pick this book up and read it. As close as you are going to get to the real man and understanding him. Thanks Graham.
On film and real life not the same for sure
A good insight to the off screen life of Peter Sellers by a long time friend of Sellers. Interesting photographs.
Very British
Not sure why I bought this book, but wanted something light and entertaining to read before bedtime. It is not very entertaining and definitely written by a second party (best friend). It is very British and if you are not familiar with British comedy, television, slang, etc., it may seem a bit difficult to appreciate the references. Peter Sellers was without a doubt one of the great comedy actors of all times and it seems his life should have been more interesting than portrayed. Good bedtime reading. Nothing great.
A worthy tribute to Peter
Well-written, insightful, sometimes poignant, mostly amusing, this was a joy to read from start to finish. I think I've read just about every book on Peter Sellers ever published, and this is top of the list. This is not some psycho-analysis of his character or motivations; it is the affectionate but honest memories of someone who was a close and loyal friend for many many years.
