Remembering Reids: 40 years since since fire destroyed an Ipswich icon, and VP80 commemorations

It is 40 years since the devastating Reids fire in Ipswich CBD. In this special episode we remember that day which many said was the day the heart was ripped out of the city centre. In March 2020 I spoke with Lisa Jarrold, former centre manager of Ipswich City Square. Lisa was one of thousands of Ipswich workers and residents who woke to the news. You’ll hear eyewitness accounts from 1985. Also in this episode VP80 commemorations and events.
