Description
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, 8th District, joins Lisa Dent to discuss an incident in Hoffman Estates where an ICE agent is recorded detaining a teenage girl, kneeling on her neck. DHS downplayed the video, claiming that the video was “not even from this year.” Rep. Krishnamoorthi says that DHS is, “trying to gaslight us,” and believes that these continued actions by ICE are “completely unacceptable.” He notes that President Trump claimed that ICE would be arresting criminals. Instead, Rep. Krishnamoorthi continued, ICE is meeting “some kind of quota.” White House deputy chief of staff for policy and the United States homeland security advisor, Stephan Miller has set a quota of 3,000 arrests a day, which is including the wrongful arrest of US citizens. Finally, he gives his perspective on the government shutdown.
