When my 17-year-old son told me he was gay, I struggled with how to respond. Setting religious beliefs aside, I allowed the Holy Spirit to teach me God's truth and cast out what religion had to offer. God is love, and in Him, all things are made new, in His time and in His way. This event with my son was used by God to rewire my thoughts and teach me to love. After all, it truly is the heart of man that God desires to capture, isn't it! And we can be part of that if we will lean into the Holy Spirit and cast off our judgment, self-righteousness, and need to control others.
