I have known Rick for a couple of years now but never spent enough time with Maple Mars "Galaxyland" and see the video to know that I have a very creative and talented individual in my circle. I should have interviewed him sooner but sometimes doing this is overwhelming with all that life puts on your plate.

So, when Rick sent me his latest album "Ruby Free" I immediately dug the album art and music which we talk about in the interview. It's a complete different dimension from Maple Mars which is very commendable.

Rick and I talk about passion in music, animation and mixing. He had the music bug as far back as he can remember.

We mention some of Rick's influences on "Ruby Free," which is very cool.

Our Skype line dropped twice (which is a first for me) but during post it's pretty seamless. I kept it in so you can "feel" the "LIVE" aspect of the show. I deleted all "dead air."

We had a lot of people listening but chose not to get in the chat room where all the fun is but that is OK. Just keep listening.

I play a couple of clips from others, one from our friend Cosmo Topper's "Hippie Christmas" version 2011 as there are 3 or 4 versions and one from Moe Berg's "The Pursuit of Happiness," since we were talking about Todd (Rundgren) and his engineering skills on the album "Love Junk." So about a minute clip to get one verse and the lead then we fade back to Rick.

During our first disconnection, I played the track "Bongos and Beards," from Ruby Free and followed up with "Starting Over" off Rick's last release from Maple Mars, "Galaxyland."

One our second Skype disconnect I played Ruby Free's "Wound Up To Tight."

We talk about his day gig at Dreamworks, the evil of the music business and various other subjects. So your going to have to check it out and listen to the whole thing. You will enjoy.
