Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has been described as the now de facto PM of Canada. She is among Western premiers demanding a better equalization deal from Ottawa as the equalization fund hits $26.2 billion. Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia will receive not one cent of those monies to which the three provinces have contributed significantly. 

Justin Trudeau will also face a national caucus on Wednesday as more Liberal MPs are demanding he resign as prime minister.

Alberta's and Canada's relationship with incoming U.S. president Donald Trump and the premier accepting an invitation to attend the inauguration of Donald Trump on January 20.
