Many businesses have created a cultural of rules and policies. It's almost like if there isn’t a new rule by noon, we had better create one. Our North American society has also become a culture of rules but where do we draw the line? What is the intent behind these rules?
- Rules tell us NOT what to do
- Rules are way to constrict the activity of the creative
- We are not suggesting that rules and policies aren’t required at times but only as a framework to keep us between the pipes
- The more productive approach is to build a framework that drives performance, allows people to make the call, be creative and resourceful
