Today's passage has a lot to do with staying faithful to the truth of scripture and the gospel, in the face of a changing world and culture that is bent on adapting those truths. When we pick and choose wisdom that God has given to us, we lose life-changing blessings that God can do in our lives. This is important for Christians to do with grace and patience, knowing full well that not all of our peers will want to be faithful to scripture, because the kingdom of God needs faithful disciples in order to grow.
