S12 E6 - Community Palliative Care
Description
Welcome back to another episode of the MDTea Podcast, where this time we’ve taken the show on the road to St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Eastbourne to learn all about community palliative care. For patients living with chronic illnesses and those approaching the end of their life, knowing that they have a team of caring, approachable healthcare professionals to coordinate their treatment can be life-changing.
We have the privilege on today’s episode of hearing from Eirian, Sophie, Rachael, Laura, Andy and Paul from St Wilfrid’s Hospice. We were invited for a cup of tea with them down at their state-of-the-art inpatient facility on the south coast of England, and they explained to us about the inspiring work they do in catering for patients with life-limiting illnesses or those in the last phase of their lives. Please have a listen if you can, there’s such a goldmine of useful tips and suggestions for all of us to apply to our day-to-day practice, whether that’s in palliative care medicine or not.
We’ve also got our regular features (Paper of the Week, MDTea Wordle) alongside our ever-exciting One Minute Topic game at the very end of the episode. As always you can contact us on Facebook, on Twitter @mdtea_podcast, on Instagram @mdteapodcast or via email at thehearingaidpodcasts@gmail.com.
