Description

In this episode of Teaching While Black, Angela describes a recent incident in which a teacher advised a child to respond to a mean comment by reminding them that the other students' ancestors used to own theirs. Dre tells a story of a time a coworker referred to another coworker as Aunt Jemima. Dre and Angela then reflect on their presenting and attendance at the Texas Alliance for Black School Educators' recent conference. Conference reflections include conversations about supporting LGBTQ students, Black excellence and obedience, and grief.
