Description
Welcome back to The House Hack Podcast! This week, we're joined by Robert Wigley and talking all things Gen Z, technology, and reflecting on what it's like approaching the second half of his career.
Robert spent a career in finance, rising to become EMEA Chairman of Merrill Lynch and a member of the board of the Bank of England during the 2008 financial crisis.
He now Chairs UK Finance among many other non-executive directorships, advisory, and trustee roles. He backs young entrepreneurs and has written a book: Born Digital: The Story of a Distracted Generation which explores Generation Z, the surveillance economy and presents a roadmap for society to radically and urgently reset its relationship with technology - for the sake of future generation
In the episode, we chat about his finance career and reflect on how, since we are living longer, most older folks believe their career to be over by age 50 odd. Whereas, in reality, it is the beginning of the second half.
We chat about Bob's journey in writing his first book interviewing over 200 Gen Zers and unpack the lessons learned and discuss the path ahead - from technology to collective attitudes to changes in the hiring process. It's all here.
