European ice hockey is back for the 2024-25 season and the first two matchdays of the Champions Hockey League did not disappoint. The UK's Sheffield Steelers got a famous victory against Växjö Lakers, whilst Dynamo Pardubice lived up to our pre-season prediction with two dominant wins. We review all of the action and also catch up on some NHL news, not least of which being Germany's Leon Draisaitl signing an 8-year contract extension with the Edmonton Oilers
