The California Golden Seals were an outright oddity in the chapters of the NHL. From cooperalls to names on the back of jerseys and even an actual seal on the ice, the franchise left an incredible mark on the league before they relocated in 1976. Despite their failiures hockey would go on to flourish in the state with a modern day 3 teams and multiple Stanley Cup wins.
