Description
Steve is a musician, composer, arranger, musical director, orchestrator and music supervisor. He is the musical director for The Play What I Wrote.
In 1997, Steve became the trumpet player for The Official Tribute To The Blues Brothers produced by David Pugh. Later that year he progressed to musical director and since then has worked on a number of shows on multiple instruments.
He has also worked as composer, arranger, musical director, orchestrator and/or music supervisor on West End and touring shows including The Play What I Wrote, Heroes, Calendar Girls (both musical and original play), The Band, the stage play of The Full Monty and The Classic Rock Show.
Aside from theatre, Steve has played for artists such as Corinne Bailey-Rae, Martha Reeves, Hannah Waddingham and Chrissie Hynde, worked with take thats Gary Barlow, played on round-the-world cruises and recorded jingles for BBC national radio. Since 2014 he has been the musical arranger for The Voice UK (both BBC and ITV) and, subsequently, The Voice Kids. Other TV work includes Dancing On Ice, Sing On (Netflix), Starstruck and Richard Osman’s House Of Games. His time is now divided between TV, theatre and working on projects for his own Steropar label in his studio on the Wirral, The Old School recording studio
