S3 Ep12 Myths and Misconceptions When You Don't Know Enneagram Subtypes
Description
Pulling from the theory of Claudio Narajano, Bea and Uranio share some common myths and misconceptions about Enneagram types when subtypes are not understood.
When referring to subtypes, they are not referring to Wings. They use instinctual subtypes, which describe the mix of the passion of the type and dominant instinct, which is either self-preservation, social, or sexual. It is easy to think people of the same type are similar because they share a common passion. However, the dominant instinct influences the passion, and the subtype places a spotlight on the traits that make people different within each type.
For decades, Bea and Uranio studied the instinctual subtypes in-depth, but they also put the subtypes to the test by helping individuals and seeing subtypes work in practice. This is a great episode that can help prevent mistyping and guide people to their distinct growth paths.
