Misleading. Crime is actually down across the country—even in NYC! Lived there for 7 years and NEVER had an incident. The real issue with police is that there are less people going into law enforcement- partially because of public perception, and they’ve had a huge wave of retirements over the past years. A dispatcher told me they are desperate to hire and will hire ANYONE at this point…and there’s also compassion fatigue as to why someone would watch a person burn alive.
