With the verdict declared to the world, Ken calls Betsey in for an unscheduled Beach Talk. This relatively brief conversation recounts the moment the news came to them both: the 45th President is guilty of all 34 counts - a unanimous decision of the twelve jurors after five grueling weeks of testimony. At long last, there is accountability. The two compare and contrast the moment the O.J. Simpson verdict was announced in 1994. Republican Trump supporters (including those who the former President has trashed) were quick to flood the media with bogus claims - “witch hunt,” “partisan,” “miscarriage of justice” etc., etc. It prompted Ken to write an open letter to Senator John Thune (shared on Substack) who joined the chorus with an unfortunate Tweet. Ken’s plea is for supporters of the presumed Republican candidate to think hard about their loyalty - the character and fitness of their candidate. Ken and Betsey agree. The prize for Greatest Liar Of All Time (GLOAT) does not belong to witness Michael Cohen, but the clear winner would be Mr. Trump - the now-convicted felon.
