SBA PPP: Access Denied to Former Felons
Description
When you have did the crime and paid the time and change your entire life society still have many to continue serving perpetual life sentences when access to opportunities are denied.
Brian Hamilton the founder of Inmates to Entrepreneurs gives us insights of things we need to take in to account our perceptions about others.
"Scott, who served time in prison years ago, is now a highly successful entrepreneur. Like many other entrepreneurs, he has worked very hard to start a new life, and his business has been significantly impacted by the new coronavirus crisis. But the application for the SBA loans meant to keep small business owners afloat discriminate against previous felons."
This is not new behavior it just has been exposed publicly for all of us to experience and become self-aware to ask the question " Would I want to be denied access when I have already paid the cost?" Second chances matter regardless of your race, creed, religion - it is called being HUMAN.
