Religion and spirituality often get intertwined, but are absolutely and completely different. Religion provides a set of beliefs and practices passed down through generations. Religion can feel restrictive - bound by dogma, doctrine, and human interpretation. It’s an external guide, telling us what to believe and how to live.
Spirituality, on the other hand, is an intimate, personal journey. It’s about cultivating a direct connection with something greater - the universe, a higher power, or our own inner wisdom. Spirituality encourages exploration, self-reflection, and individual truth. It’s about embracing mystery, embracing our uniqueness, and finding meaning in our experiences. Spirituality isn’t about following rules; it’s about embracing our inner compass and letting that guide us. Spirituality is about freedom, whereas religion can sometimes feel like constraint.
