These questions are in focus today as we kick off a new sermon series through the book of Ruth: As we dive into the first chapter and explore the background of the story, we see how a similar sentiment — compromising and asking “what choice do I have?” in difficult times — likely preceded and led to the state of affairs at the start of the book. But as pastor Ulysses encourages us today, we can learn from Ruth who went against the tide, that regardless of what we go through, we can always make a choice to follow God.
