Description
Santa Monica secures $49.9M grant for affordable housing and eco-friendly transportation. Thirty-five million dollars will fund a new affordable housing development, while fourteen point three million dollars will go towards sustainable transportation infrastructure, including electric buses and bike lane upgrades. Additionally, one hundred fifty thousand dollars will be used for anti-displacement efforts. This grant is part of a larger statewide initiative to support the creation of nearly two thousand four hundred new rent-restricted homes and expand zero-emission transit, bike paths, and pedestrian infrastructure throughout California.
