Description

That thing where you get bitten by ticks and can't eat meat, is that real? Yes, it's real, and it's called Alpha-Gal Syndrome. Dr. Sydnee dives into the fascinating story of how we found out that sometimes, if you get bitten by a certain tick, you become allergic to red meat.

My son was thought to have Alpha gal but has now been dx with pork cat syndrome! He also has CHD and will need a valve replacement, so this was very interesting for me.

Food allergies: everything packaged is cross contaminated unless it states made in a nut safe facility. Kids react during their "first" exposure because it isn't their first exposure.

My past roommate has alpha-gal syndrome, went undiagnosed with Lyme for a year because he was unhoused, and ER doctors dismissed him as faking. Random luck that I'm vegan, cause he had no idea about the meat and dairy thing and couldn't figure out why he kept getting sick til I recognized the pattern
