Scottish Watches Podcast #642 : Miami Tudor – Year Of The Snake Specials and 20 Years of MB and F
Description
Welcome to the Scottish Watches Podcast Episode 642! This week Max Busser celebrated 20 years of MB&F Legacy Machine Longhorn Editions which bring the mechanical excellence of Stephen McDonnell to a lower price point. Still at the big bucks level though, so for an attainable independent watchmaking piece, take a look at the new Tantalum and Ruby Platinum hand-engraved dials by Sartory Billard. Tudor brings another pop of color to their Black Bay Chrono with a Flamingo Blue, inspired by Miami. Plus a lot of brands, from Swatch to Vacheron, find themselves inspired by the Chinese New Year, the year of the Snake.

H. Moser x MB&F Streamliner Pandamonium.Richemont Group posts 10% increase in Q3 2024
This week, Richemont Group announced its Q3 2024 results ended 31 December 2024, and surprisingly, the group has posted a 10% increase in overall sales which must be a very welcome reprieve from the slow growth of the quarters prior. The growth was primarily driven by jewellery maisons which includes the likes of Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels which recorded an impressive 14% increase. However, there is no respite for watch-focused brands though with an 8% decline in sales when compared to the same period the year before. It remains to be seen though, if the group will be able to sustain this performance in the coming quarters, though the impact of the management reshuffle of 2024 among watch brands in particular will be interesting to watch.
