Security vs. Privacy - What are we fighting for?
Description
In one corner we have privacy. On a very fundamental level, privacy is a basic human right recognized in the U.N. Declaration of Human Rights.
Even though it's not yet a human right in every constitution globally, we have seen regulations like GDPR and CCPA come into place in the last years. We have also had discussions on this in the US congress, EU parliament and in the world in the wake of Cambridge Analytica scandal.
In the other corner lies security. Under the umbrella of security, lies both ensuring services, products and business performs securely as well as also different forms of surveillance, in order to ensure security of people and nation, which could potentially at times invade the privacy aspect.
Monica talks with Vandana Verma on where does the balance lie and challenges, risks and recommendations for businesses, vendors and people.
