Description

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” 4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.” 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” Isaiah 6:1-8 NKJV

4 important things about CULTURE:

1. The CULTURE you choose determines the DECISIONS you make.

The “kingdom” you live in and the culture you embrace determines most of your:

• (1) Perceptions (what you see).

• (2) Beliefs (what you accept as true).

• (3) Values (your non-negotiables… things you hold dear).

• (4) Actions (behaviors).

• (5) Attitudes (thought process, mindset, relationship patterns, etc.)

“If you want to grow in wisdom, spend time with the wise. Walk with the wicked and you’ll eventually become just like them.” Proverbs 13:20 (TPT) The Passion Translation

2. In life, there are TWO cultural CHOICES.

• (1) The kingdom of DARKNESS.

• (2) The kingdom of LIGHT.

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2 (NIV)

Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali —14 to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah: 15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles — 16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” 17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Matthew 4:13-17 (NIV)

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Ephesians 5:8-10 (NIV)

3. To transfer from darkness to light, you need to experience a NEW BIRTH and a RENEWED MIND, and Be Filled With The HOLY SPIRIT!

(1) Born as sinners.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 (NIV)

(2) Born into a sinful world.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — comes not from the Father but from the world. 1 John 2:15 , 16 (NIV)

(3) Born into a world influenced by invisible spiritual forces of darkness.

In which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. Ephesians 2:2, 3 (NIV)

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 NKJV

Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, 22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead let the Spirit renew you thoughts and

attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God — truly righteous and holy. Ephesians 4:21-24 (NLT)

4. When you see God’s Kingdom, you change — you begin LIVING in the LIGHT.
