Our goal is to help expand your thinking to better serve these amazing people, and to support you in your daily struggles and celebrations.  In this episode guest Occupational Therapist, Ellen Winney, joins Lynette and Rich as they discuss the many sensory processing challenges in autism. Conditions like sensory “over responsivity” and “under responsivity” are explained, and examples shared as to how these conditions can impact the day to day functioning of individuals on the spectrum. Examples of occupational therapy methods used to address these conditions are shared by Ellen and Lynette who have successfully treated sensory processing problems for over 45 years collectively.
